Posting an Event

Here’s the part where we get down to the nitty-gritty! At Community Meets, we want to reflect your needs, and we understand that those can be different depending on your end goals, your business, and because of a whole host of other factors.

To get started as an event organiser you’ll need to setup a group or page that matches your purpose.

  3. Event Manager pages.

1. Interest Groups

These pages are perfect for rallying a group of people around an interest or hobby.

By choosing to start an Interest Group, you will have access to powerful tools that will help you to establish a new group, manage an existing group, and create all sorts of amazing events for your members. We’ve made it easy to import and manage existing contacts, membership lists, to share admin duties with other people, post updates and changes and to promote across social media. Inviting people is a cinch: group members are usually automatically invited, and on-page invite and share tools make it easy to spread the word and get others on-board.

2. Community Groups

Well a Community Group is the perfect place to unite a group of people around a cause, mission or location. At the community page, you’ll have access to all the ‘interest group’ features, allowing you to import and mange contacts, including member lists, and create events.

You’ll also be able to authorise community members and other event organisers to contribute events to the community page. This is great way to engage community members and grow the events list. 

Imagine, all your communities events, conveniently listed in the single location. 

Community groups are jammed packed with tools and features, and focus on encouraging member participation.

3. Event Manager pages

So you’d like to post an event, but don’t want to setup or actively manage an  Interest of Community Group?

Well an Event Manager page is the way to go!

 You’ll have full access to smart event management tools and features, making it easy to share and promote your upcoming events, be they one-off or repeat events, public or private. You can also direct people interested in your events to,

  • Register on page
  • Register at 3rd party page
  • Follow you

On page comments and photos can be active to enhance engagement, or deactivate, depending on your requirements. All public events are posted to the general activity list.

For maximise exposure and a dedicated Community Meets URL, setup a visible ‘About us’ event manager page. Such a page will allow members to learn more about you, and see a full list of your upcoming events. If an ‘About us’ presence is not required, choose a hidden page as the posting source.
