Yet another great one-off high country hike. Join TSA Directors on this mountain exploration!
It will be a harder hike, but all our grade 3+ walkers should smash it no worries with the always passionate support of our TSA crew. And remember that great achievements don’t come easy, especially when you head out with us! We guarantee a great weekend, lots of views, with some TSA ‘nearly there’ encouragement. We know you love it!
This is hiking at its best through Victoria’s majestic hills and valleys. Bring your lightest gear or borrow ours, load up on ‘fluids’ as this is not one to miss! Being a traverse means we get to summit a number of high peaks including High Cone (1488m), Square Top (1488m) and of course Mt Clear (1695m).
This is a short and sharp outing, so heading off early Friday for a drive through the mountains followed by a mostly uphill 7km walk starting later in the morning. Then camp in the mountains ready for an earlier start and a 14km traverse and descent back to the cars.
It is a full pack carry so all hikers must have suitable gear, clothing, and ability to carry water. We all meet up at Merrijig Hotel (Hunt Club Hotel) and then car pool for the remaining journey of approximately an hour along dirt roads.
